Random.  Marx got it wrong.

We call ourselves "consumers" and the GDP measures our progress.
We're "robot aliens" ( consumption machines ), exploiting a niche,
(poorly) programmed by nature to take a LessBad "option".

I can't fix it.  Understanding it is the best I can do.

Drunk driving used to be thee issue, now it's drunk living.
You need a license to drive, but not to live and breed.

The hotter it is, the faster things breed, including humans. 
Norway has 5 million people, Asia has billions.

The wealth and intelligence of a nation is reflected
in its birth rate -- from Singapore (.83/woman) and Macau, 
at the top, to Niger (6.49/woman) and Angola at the bottom.
