My X server crased. When I logged back into the screen session, I got the expected black bar instead id the â characters. I’ve no explanation for the difference. The only continuing problem is that the progress bar gets screwed whenever apt (or dpkg or whichever) asks for confirmation. After that the bar is overwritten by apt’s output and scrolls up, leaving a bar every four lines or so. -JimC -- cloos@jhcloos.com
