That is my understanding, and what Wikipedia says: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserved_IP_addresses says: 127.0.0.0/8 127.0.0.0–127.255.255.255 16777216 Host Used for loopback addresses to the local host.[1] So, both 127.0.0.1 and 127.0.1.1 are in the IPv4 special use address block 127.0.0.0/8.
