Has the patch every been proposed to upstream?
If not, then send one with 'git send-email' to the ones listed for the file in
question, which can be obtained via 'get_maintainer.pl':

$~/dev/kernel.org/linux$ scripts/get_maintainer.pl include/linux/kobject.h
Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> (supporter:DRIVER CORE,
KOBJECTS, DEBUGFS AND SYSFS)
"Rafael J. Wysocki" <rafael@kernel.org> (reviewer:DRIVER CORE, KOBJECTS,
DEBUGFS AND SYSFS)
linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org (open list)

If you've never used 'git send-email' before or send patches to the upstream
kernel before, these links may be off help:
https://git-send-email.io/
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/process/submitting-patches.html
