There was an insurrection.  Trump organized it, financed it and directed it.

   * "Be there (DC).  Will be wild!" — Trump, Dec. 19, 2020
   * "We are going to the Capitol" — Trump, Jan. 06, 2020
   * "Fight like hell" — Trump, Jan. 06, 2020 (multiple times)

There was an insurrection.  This is not in rational dispute.

There also was a soft coup attempt:  Trump commanding Pence to reject electoral 
votes he had no power or authority to reject.
