Dokuwiki broke when PHP was upgraded to 8.1 (now in testing):

This is very likely fixed upstream, either in the not yet packaged
upstream release 2020-07-29 “Hogfather” ("some preparations for the
upcoming PHP8") or in the upcoming upstream release "Igor" ("Fix various
errors in PHP8 support").
