You could investigate RISC OS, the 'successor' to BBC MOS on the 
Archimedes etc. It has built-in BBC BASIC which is still actively used.

Buy a Raspberry Pi and install the minimum Pico system and you will be 
back with a black screen and flashing cursor. ;-)
