Same way you eat an elephant... one bite at a time. And at some point you
might decide enough is enough. Or the elephant meat starts to spoil. :)

It could have been one. If could have been one million. The way you set it
up it does not matter OTHER than if the number is more than makes it worth
it to give up the initial prize.

Which, if we want to bring it back to tech, this is not a bad thought. The
prize of using Windows or OS X is high... you likely will be productive very
quickly. With OS X you likely will be more so but have limits (such as
games), with Windows less so but more chance of malware and it is cheaper
and you can do niche things you cannot easily do on a Mac. With Linux
(looking at the GUI tools most you) you have a bunch of choice with no real
prize in sight other than the cost being cheaper. As long as you think the
others are worth the cost why even look at Linux (for most users... we are
geeks here and there is pleasure in just looking for us).

Then when you do look you see one distro... then another.... then another...
and you quickly see the pattern: lots of options but not many actual choices
in terms of getting tasks done. This is why when we focus on tasks there are
not many examples of Linux handling it better.

Hmmm, if this was the real world I might very well... but I do have an
autonomic nervous system disorder that leads to panic attacks. :)
