I use open source... heck, just today I used CyberDuck, ffmpeg (with a GUI wrapper), audacity, and I am sure many other fully open source products (not to mention OS X and Safari and other tools which are partially open source). I do not have a problem with open source. But the idea that desktop Linux competes well in the general market is just silly. If it did then, being free, it would have a MUCH larger part of the market... Dell and HP and Walmart and others would be selling desktop systems with heavily. They do sell Chrome OS and Android and other Linux-based OSs... ones where they have ditched KDE and GNOME and other "standard" desktop Linux environments.
