As much as I point out the "sickness" of both religions, really it comes
down to they are tools. They can be used to help teach great morality or
they can be used to justify evil. And those who are not religious can be
just as moral - or commit acts which are just as evil.

If anything, though, it might be harder for a Christian or Muslim to be a
good person - they have to reject key parts of what the see as the word of
their deity to be good. As an atheist you just have to be a good person, no
need to reject the word of what you see as a supreme being. Then again, some
religious people understand their holy books were written by men at
different times and are not a good guide to morality - for them it should
not be harder to be good than it is for atheists.
