Obama wants them to go away. When thy do the top rate of tax on long-term
capital gains­meaning any profits on shares or other assets held for more
than a year­would rise from 15% to 20%. On qualified dividends, it would
rise from a maximum of 15% to your marginal income tax rate.

I'm not saying that. But what about the 48% who pay NO taxes. Is THAT fair?

So investors, who are trying to provide for themselves in their old age and
not be a burden to the public or children, should be taxed twice on their
wages and earnings? OK, then tell me how "fair" it is to not credit anymore
than $3000 loss on investments gone bad in a year. Tell that to the people
who lost their ass to Madeoff and Stanford.
