Package: sparse
Version: 0.6.2-1
Severity: serious
User: debian-qa@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install
because it tries to overwrite other packages files.

These files are new in sparse 0.6.2-1, but were already provided by
biosquid since the very first upload in 2006:

  /usr/bin/sindex
  /usr/share/man/man1/sindex.1.gz

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

 Selecting previously unselected package sparse.
  Preparing to unpack .../33-sparse_0.6.2-1_amd64.deb ...
  Unpacking sparse (0.6.2-1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-sVYzFi/33-sparse_0.6.2-1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/sindex', which is also in package biosquid 1.9g+cvs20050121-11
dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-sVYzFi/33-sparse_0.6.2-1_amd64.deb

cheers,

Andreas
