He *did*.  Can’t you read?

Also, you have been told before that Einstein was not the sole author of GR.

Also, it was Einstein who proposed the test in the first place.  He had even 
an observatory built in Berlin just for that purpose.  *He* challenged 
astronomers.  You see, different to crackpots, *he* *wanted* his theory to 
be *tested*, to make sure he was not wrong.
