Not carefully enough, it seems.

If the standard implied that code must run on the same system
immediately after compilation, that would be a flaw in the standard.
Where exactly does it appear to say that? (And if you're pointing out
such a major flaw in the standard, *why didn't you cite it in the first
place*?)
