Easier, probably, to take a hint from stdint and do something like this:

#if ..MSVC test..
#define PRINT_LLD "I64d"
#else
#define PRINT_LLD "lld"
#endif

...
long long var = 3872984822;

printf("this is a big number %" PRINT_LLD ", isn't it?",var);
