What I want is a smartphone without an OS pre-installed.

Last week, I upgraded my phone to WP8.1 and lost my camera in the
process. Bugs happen, that's understandable, but there's no way I could
debug and fix it myself. MS has known about the issue since April, but
they don't seem interested in addressing it.

If only cell phones were like blank PCs where I could install, say, Fedora.
