There's (currently) no 16 image because it doesn't exist. Someone saw a
version jump in the build files and noticed 16 is on the way at some
point. Then, someone said (paraphrasing now) "you should call it
16-alpha" and Pat said OK. So if you are running current Current it's
basically 16-alpha. Those images get spun up periodically as
slackware64-current-install-dvd.iso . My last one is from Sept
9th. /etc/slackware-version still says "Slackware 15.0+" as of today.
