My experience is that whether Windows or Linux, I need to maintain it for others. If I use my mother as an example of a very basic user, she encounters as many problems whether she uses one or the other. Heck, she managed to screw up a Mac. The operating system that's given her the least amount of problems though is Windows 11. Somehow, that thing resists her destructive nature. Meanwhile, everything works great for me dad regardless of whether it is MacOS, Windows or Linux.
