Are you talking to me? Read my post again. It should be perfectly 
clear that whatever his problem is with iTunes, I said Photos is 
worse.

I've reverted to iPhoto, for as long as it lasts or until Apple 
brings Photos up to the level of iPhoto, which, if this proceeds 
along the lines of the switch from iMovie HD down to iMovie, will be
never.

Regarding how to upload photos from the camera, my Canon camera came
with a Mac app that loads photos and videos to folders neatly 
labeled  by date. I like to cull my photos and give the keepers 
descriptive filenames and, when needed, preprocess them in Photoshop
Elements before importing to iPhoto.
