David (Lord Kronos Prime) Fuller wrote: > The Fluid is not completely Mass-less @ 3.71295775e-28 kg What fluid would that be? > Lower the Mass density and the wave speed rises. > > Raise the Mass density and the wave speed Drops. That depends on the type of the wave. For example, gravitational waves always propagate at the speed of light, no matter the mass density of the medium. As for the speed of light c, which is determined by the refractive index n of the medium instead (c = c₀∕n, where c₀ is the speed of light in vacuum), there is no correlation between the refractive index of a medium and its mass density. For example: ------------------------------------------------------ Medium Refractive index Mass density ------------------------------------------------------ Water 1.333 0.9998396 g/cm³ at 0 °C Ethanol 1.3611 0.7893 g/cm³ ------------------------------------------------------ (from <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refractive_index> pp.) Ethanol has a slightly greater refractive index than water (at 0 °C), therefore the speed of light is slightly lower in it than in water; but it has *less* mass density than water. So what you claim is certainly not true for the “wave speed” of light if “wave speed” is understood as “phase speed of the wave”. > [pseudophysics] Please don’t. -- PointedEars Twitter: @PointedEars2 Please do not cc me. / Bitte keine Kopien per E-Mail.
