My first Linux distro was MCC Interim. From there, I went to Yggdrasil, SLS, Slackware, RedHat, Mandrake, SuSE, Slackware, MEPIS, xubuntu, Ubuntu, and back to Slackware. I've been looking at Mint lately, but I'm not sure I want to go back to a deb-package distribution or one that's dependent on Ubuntu. Slackware hits the spot for me, maybe because it stays very Unix- like. It manages to stay up-to-date while remaining conservative and some- what traditional. Also, it requires enough manual fiddling to keep me interested. :) -- View this thread at http://squte.com/node/4767#comment-11011
