I've never really seen the "cow" part ... it simply looks like a dog
with two black patches. There's plenty of dogs around like that. 

Our own dog when it was a puppy was white with auburn ears and an
auburn patch on its chest, but the auburn has faded out as it grew
older (still faintly visible on the ears, especially after a haircut).
