There are other ways to deal with devilish details than
naming:

  1.  make sure that both .name and .email are proper C
      strings, e.g. by way of a single constructor function
      or dedicated `setter' functions,
  2.  implement explosive operations on X as reusable
      functions,
  3.  work with X as with an opaque type,
  4.  roll your own strcmp that handles NULL.
  5.  generally and when appropriate, follow Robert Martin's
      advice to avoid "primitive obsession".
