One of the greatest weaknesses of Linux is that there is no
standardized driver format, so that each new kernel requires driver
recompilation and even code change. No problem if driver is open
source, but as in this case someone has to make change.... Of course
this greatly discourages proprietary vendors on producing drivers for
Linux...
