I just got a computer that was refurbished by U.S. Micro Corporation.
It came with Windows 7 Professional, and I installed Debian Wheezy
along with it.

The DVD drive worked perfectly during installation, and Windows can
still read it. Wheezy doesn't know it's there.

If I go to Computer in Wheezy, and insert a DVD, the DVD icon will show
up while the light is flashing on the drive.  As soon as the light goes
out, the icon disappears.

I looked in the BIOS, and the DVD drive shows up first in the boot
sequence.  I know the drive is good, but I don't know how to make the
Debian operating system use it.
