Yes, and St*f*n R*m has it exactly the wrong way round. When Kleenex appeared
on the market it was the only facial tissue of that type, and so it was
natural to apply the word to other similar products. On the other hand compasses,
road maps and direction signs existed centuries before Global Positioning
Systems, and there is no on reason earth to transfer the name of a very modern 
device to things that have always been available. So "In the same manner" is
about as wrong as one can be.
