Hays was the last major city on the way to Al-Khukheh.

OK, it's late now and before my energy hits the bottom let's take a
general look.
It is getting clear that Iran has successfully, or is successfully,
kicking the US military out of the West Asian region. Israeli's will
have their own time to get out of West Asia and get lost.
The last, or at least one of the last major attempts that Americans made
to actually bring troops inside Iran was the one in which the wedding
bombing took place. That operation was to open the way for the US
marines to get transported from Jordan to inside Iran by helicopters. It
was a big plan.
But what happened is that (by all probability) Jordanian people
themselves informed Iran about that plan, so Iran attacked Jordan and
hit several powerful missile at the buildings that those marines were
being kept and at places that they kept their helicopters in. A whole
bunch of helicopters that were to transport them to Iran got damaged.
Result was that, no helicopters means no marine transportation. So
Americans' plan never took off. If they had brought troops inside,
result would have not been any different. It would get bloodier and with
much higher cost for the US forces, but it would not be any different
from failing.
Today the damaged helicopters that were in Jordan to transport the
marines to Iran were taken back to Israel. So Americans might not say
that, but what they are _doing_ is taking their military forces back,
farther and farther from Iran.
Their warships and carriers also went farther back after they were
attacked by missiles. Their blockade is now less effective because the
blockade line is now much longer and gaps in it are wider.
So American military forces in West Asia, not only cannot do anything
effective against Iran, they cannot defend themselves either. Iran can
really destroy them any time she wishes.
This is why I'm saying that the end of American military presence in
West Asia is near. The 12-day war last year nailed it in fact. Inside my
mind, the irreversible path had begun back then. It was just a matter of
time and some more wars, etc, for the Americans to start believing that
their military forces can no longer stay inside that region. They're
much better off outside that region.
There are tens of American bases throughout Europe as well. All of them
are also goners. They're too close to Iran. Russia is using Ukraine in
the same way as Iran is using Israel, to ruin Europe and USA respectively.
