You know guys, I have read much about Iran's parliament and how it works merely because decades back, before the revolution of 1979 there were presses that dutifully recorded everything that was going on in the parliament in the form of books after books. In 1970s I had already read such books that covered very sensitive periods in the history of Iran because history books sometimes fell short of going into needed details. About 5 books or so covered such unique periods since the 1906 Constitution revolution. And today, right now, I can say with a good amount of certainty, that Iran's parliament has not been as active as it is today, since 1906. First off, the activity is quite genuine. They are trying to find solutions to the problems discussed. They are working long hours, from 8 am to sometimes 10 at night. A lot of issues are being debated. The intensity and volume of it has even surprised Pakestanis and Iraqis, etc, who always have their men sitting there watching the whole procedure. They describe the activities as "remarkable". They pass the information to their superiors in their respective countries, and from there it spreads among a whole lot of analysts, some of whom have youtube channels discussing such stuff in the English language. These analysts are quite impressed by the quality of the jobs done in Iran's parliament, and no doubt wish their respective governments could enjoy and utilize their own parliaments as well as Iranians use theirs. The Telegram news channels that I watch are also packed with stuff that come up and discussed in the parliament and what got proposed and what passed and got ratified, etc. I only see these Telegram channels during wars involving Iran to get information. In peace time I've got better things to do. I also watch youtube channels of some of these analysts, among them Americans, Pakestanis, Arabs, Europeans, Indians, British, Russian, Greeks, and even Chinese analysts, all making their discussions in the English language. Israeli channels are totally worthless for obvious reasons. And by what I hear, I can make a good estimate of: - how well Iran's parliament is doing. - how solid Iranians' backing of the new Leader is - How solid Iranians are behind the Militia - how impossible it is that Iran would crack - how impossible it is that Pakestan would crack - how solidly China is behind Iran - how solidly China is behind Pakestan - how solidly Pakestan is behind Iran - How solidly Iraq is behind Iran - etc and etc Pakestani analysts are saying that closing of the trade corridors between Iran and Pakestan "is not going to happen." They say even if Pakestan as a result of paying no attention to Bessent loses its $10 Billion IMF loan, China is going to back it up. They say China has been keen to cut the ties between Pakistan and the USA for some time, and this push from Bessent gives China the opportunity to do so. Generally, anybody in the world now prefers having nothing to do with the USA. Anybody who bought their treasury bonds cannot cash them and get their money back. Japan alone might lose more than a trillion dollars that US government owes them. They cannot cash their treasury bonds. Arabs also cannot cash theirs. Their money, soon after buying those bonds, got stolen by other Americans! The money is not there anymore. So this sentiment of not wanting to have anything to do with the Americans applies to friends and foes both! They are trying to minimize the relations with the Americans, and if push comes to shove they'll kiss any connection they have with them goodbye, and seek safer ones with China. This is the reality I can see through what these analysts are saying. We are witnessing a "has-been", struggling to act like it used to, and failing miserably at every step of the way.
