Thank you, Stan! I'll look into fastmail. I'd been using my university email address to send email 
for years through my ISP's email service, so the university doesn't have any objection. The issue of 
not being able to send email from that address occurred when my ISP stopped offering email service. 
(Actually, it had stopped a few years ago, but I was grandfathered in until my ISP was bought by 
T-Mobile...)
