One significant advantage of using the SiliconDust HDHomeruns and the 
Kathrein EXIPs is they are literally plug and play... connect satellite 
or aerial, plug in ethernet lead, plug into power, do the initial tuning 
set up and thats it.  You might have the odd firmware download and 
update to do.

Many streaming sticks also offer Apps like Plex, Jellyfin, HDHomerun, 
Kodi etc so if you already have some streaming sticks, thats your live 
viewing of SatIP streams sorted.

If you happen to have a NAS from the likes of Synology or QNAP etc, 
there may well be apps you can download that then allow you to use the 
NAS as your recording PVR from the SATIP streams.

Obviously if you like building everything from scratch using individual 
components, then its tinkerers heaven and complete flexibility and the 
above is of no fun to you :-)
