Not that I ever looked. All callbacks I've used in GUI libraries on top of X are simply event based for widgets to capture. I've never come across one where on screen objects suddely got promoted to doing their own processing of data and why would they - the X server is simple a graphics server and doesn't even have to run on the same machine as the program using it. Having a window deal with data just seems a moronic paradigm to me - what if more than 1 window needs it or the main core application? Ridiculous.
