Actually the problem is not you, or the setup. It is an ancient filemaker problem. I have never found a 100% working solution. But what I have tried with some success (or should I say with some luck....) is adding another file. Add all the other files to the external data sources. Create the same login. And let your users open this file. If needed it could end in a layout where they choose where to go next. With any luck it will work, but I can't predict wether it actually will work. I never understood why a file would ask for a password but then would still open upon using escape. End then when I create something similar the next time it will behave completely differently. I would say it is the most anoying 'feature'. Ursus Op 15-1-2013 10:06, JayBee schreef: > Hello > > Hmmm many reasons. It's data for a separate department e.g. sales so it felt appropriate to make it a completely separate database from the servicing database. So we have e.g. one database for customer details, one database for servicing and one database for sales. + the servicing database is pretty big and complex already at this stage so I wanted to start afresh on this project. > > Also made it easier to work on the project because it was a new file which I could then upload and share from the server once it was finished rather than having to work around the users on an already live database if that makes sense... > -- met vriendelijke groeten, Erik Appeldoorn
