why wouldn't they? what developer *doesn't* add features in later

then keep using aperture. it hasn't stopped working nor will it stop
working in yosemite.

whether it will work after yosemite is unknown. it might work in 10.11,
but if it doesn't, there won't be any fixes. at some point, aperture
*will* stop working.

that's basically what they're doing, although it won't be a complete
aperture replacement.

some of the speed increase of photos is due to using swift.
