#45902 — Another query on Moto G8(pwr) and wifi calling

I asked a question recently about my phone working (or rather not
working) on GiffGaff using wifi calling. It looks as though, for some
reason, Motorola in general but specifically my unit will not recognise
wifi calling being available on GiffGaff. I do not have the facility to
be abie to test to see if wifi calling will work on the root O2 network.

Is there anyone out there that uses the G8(pwr) or the G55 on another SP
SIM-only service other than the GiffGaff section of O2 - such as Tesco
or Virgin for instance - that could advise whether their phone will
sense and work with wifi calling?

TIA.

It's not the phone, mine (moto edge 40) works with IDmobile(3mobile)
most of the time but only after the signal is below -120dbm. Voice calls
wont work after about -115dbm.

I'm trying to find away of changing the cut over level

I seem to be "lucky" by having a setting I can tell my phone to prefer
wifi calling over mobile calling (has worked for me for a few years on
Pixel5a and Pixel8a)

<http://andyburns.uk/misc/wifi-calling-pref.png>

But even fellow Pixel users say they don't have that setting, go figure.

I'm using
com.google.android.dialer v165.0.733481822-publicbeta(18410953)
so I have to assume the public beta somehow makes a difference, but I'm
not willing to test by going back to the non-beta as I don't want to
risk losing the feature ... maybe you can see if they have any free
spaces for more beta testers?

Or try side-loading?
