I've been watching the tennis on BBC 1.

When they're bouncing the ball before serving, the ball noticeably
strobes yet it's by no means the fastest it's going to move later, when
there's no noticeable strobing at all. Why is that?

I thought it might be the effect of the hoardings around the court which
are electronic, but it's apparent even where the background is the court
itself, which of course isn't.

So, what's going on please?

I can't see any strobing on Ch1 or 101.

It's only on redbutton now at 3/4 of SD resolution, so difficult to
tell. Perhaps fast shutter speed on camera(s) facing into the sun and
slower shutter on wide shot camera(s)?
