#382186 — Reform/Farage

FromRadio Man <noinv@lid.org>
Date2025-11-01 13:27 +0000
SubjectReform/Farage
Message-ID<sVnNQ.108594$Lr5.6080@usenetxs.com>
My Grandfather is over 100, he fought in D-day, and he thinks that Nigel
Farage is the right man to sort Britain out. He says he reminds him of
one of the commanders that he fought alongside with distinction. In the
next few weeks he's going to auction off his medals and donate all of the
money to Reform. So, anyone know how much an Iron Cross is worth?

I think it possible that the original post is an attempt at humour

Yes, I saw it somewhere else yesterday.

My wife's grandfather was a bit of a war hero, and had an Iron Cross.
Funny how immigration changes things.

No. It _was_ humour - and quite funny.

The fact so many right wing swivel-eyed Farangists are saying it's not
funny means the barb in the joke has hit home.

The same joke has been made in various contexts.

No dear, they are not saying its not funny, just that its a very bad and
juvenile attempt at political propaganda, by a swivel eyed lefty, and
such humour as it has lies in that fact.

A *feeble attempt* at humour. There, fixed it for you.

It's a typical anti-Farage smear.

The Left are getting extremely worried about Farage.

Any way to discredit him. make him look fake, or unpatriotic or a con
artist will be used.

Just understand it for what it is.

Just like the ’pro immigrant’ protesters who were escorted by the police to
confront the peaceful protesters of Epping by shouting Racist! and Far
Right! at them to try and goad them into retaliating.

The suspicion is that because the good people of Epping failed to respond
in the manner intended, agents-provocateurs infiltrated the Epping side,
and were later extracted by the police.

The police originally denied bussing people away, but had to eat s***t when
a video emerged of big strapping men in civvies climbing aboard police
vans, leading to what has been described as a ’twenty-minute bloviating
word salad’ by the Chief Constable, who, also wearing his woodentop as
National Police Lead on Public Order, totally denied any need for him to
examine the operation in any way.

Aren’t they just. Stand by for three and a half years of increasingly dirty
tricks.

Standard Marxist tactics.

Quite so.

I spoke with a few Green councillors recently, who are about as close to
'left' as you're going to get in mainstream politics, and they weren't too
concerned. IMO they should be.

The PLP isn't 'left', although a few MPs might well qualify.

Not Marxist. Marxism is only ever a theory. For people who've done things in
the name of Marxism this is a good guide:

Exactly.

I am not, and never have been, a Farage supporter.

But I still see the current lefty efforts to disparage [disfarage?] him
for what they are (well-described above by the PP).

I am not a fan. I have met him. I have talked to him. I simply think he
is the best chance we have right now. He isn't Christ reincarnated, bit
nor is he fucking Satan...He is in the end a decent bloke trying to make
a difference.

Times have changed, politics have not. Reform has a half a chance.
