In this particular case he's wrong, and he will never, ever, admit that
he's wrong. I've also placed him on the 'ignore' list.

10.15 downloaded this morning with no problems.
Photoshop CS6 which is 64 bit will not work - anyone understand that?
I'll be forced to use Affinity Photo which is a better app anyway.

CS6 is a mess of all kinds of interlinked programs, some of which are 32-bit,
some 64-bit. I'd guess that Photoshop tries to reference some other program
in the suite: AdobeApplicationManager, or Adobe Extension Manager, perhaps?

Does Illustrator CS6 work? That's 64-bit.

On Reddit someone says you can launch it via a terminal window, I.e. go
into the package contents > contents > MacOS and launch the executable.

Don’t have CS6 so can’t test it out.

I tried this and it worked!
It involves running Terminal Processes though - Quit Terminal and
Photoshop CS6 quits as well.
I think it's time to move on. I'm not prepared to pay Adobe every year
for the pleasure of using Photoshop CC.
I'm going to learn to use Affinity Photo which seems to do everything
that Photoshop does.

Ian.

It’s really not. Just type “nohup <whatever launches Photoshopt> &”.
That’s it. Means “no hang up ...do this thing... in the background”.
That page is pretty off-putting I agree, but the technique is pretty simple.

(nohup = no hang up = “for gawd’s sake don’t stop running this thing
when I hang up the connection to my absolutely real and physical terminal
I’m sat in front of” from ye olden days)

Cheers,
Ian

Just ignore/minise the Terminal window.

The reason PS quits when you quit Terminal is because as you started it
from their, it's conceptually a child of that Terminal window now. Kill
the parent, child quits too. So, don't quit the Terminal window. Easy
way to avoid dozens of hours converting over to Affinity.

OTOH, it's always worth investing time in converting away from Adobe
tools!

My Catalina came back in good time, but Xcode is lost and won't finish
