Well, I was pottering along with NewsTap, but I thought what the hell...

Anyone know if there's a way to bulk import blocked email addresses (from
Unison). I have around 35 (25 from one person alone)... Best result would be
if I can add multiple (comma separated?) email addresses to a single email
field in the Usenapp Rule email field (rather than creating a rule for each,
which would suck).

Can I claim the first prize for guessing who that is?

You could ask André via the support forum <https://www.usenapp.com/forum/> or
wait until the 25-er provides an AI fuelled answer!

Yeah, ‘him’…!

I just realised I could have tried it myself, and may well do so if I get
round to opening the laptop again.

Should my own message header be in an italicized blue font? Also, if I
arrow up from the message below mine, it shows as blank, but if I hit the
arrow a second time, it shows up.

Teething troubles!

Yes that's how it works for me.

Xorox Software, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is a Dutch company
specializing in Mac software development. They are the creators of
Usenapp, a comprehensive Usenet client for macOS.

Usenapp offers features such as a newsreader, SmartFolders, NZB
downloader, NZB search, SuperSearch, MegaSearch, and full Newznab &
Spotweb support. It also includes NZB auto-download, auto repair and
extraction, bandwidth limitation, and posting capabilities. The software
supports macOS versions 10.11 and higher and is compatible with both
Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs.

However, some users have reported that Usenapp makes unexpected network
connections beyond those specified by the user, raising privacy concerns.

Given these reports, it’s advisable to exercise caution. If privacy is a
significant concern for you, you might consider exploring alternative
Usenet clients that have a longer track record and a more transparent
approach to user privacy.

Always ensure that any software you choose aligns with your privacy
expectations and that you are comfortable with its network behavior.

=

Is there ANY need for concern?

HTH

Shared with ACW in case others may be tempted into the unknown! ;-)

There have also been "reports" that the Earth is flat. Does not mean that it
is true. YOU are the only person I have ever seen who questions Usenapp.

You REALLY need to stop using internet chatbots as a source of information.
They are not reliable. They are not even "intelligent". But they are
certainly "artificial".

Artificial Ignorance is a better description. Whereas you are Natural
Ignorance.

Does that mean that Andre *IS* a "good guy"?

Way back, probably before you were born, I was advised to be exceedingly
cautious of people and organations, offering software, which failed to
provide their name, address and telephone number.

I have checked with the Dutch authorities and there IS a Registered
company called XOROX Software - but they would release no details of
same. You'll not find out any more by visiting here:-

https://www.xoroxsoft.com/

For shits and giggles, this is what ChatGPT had to say:-

Got it—you erased your hard drive to completely remove **Usenapp**,
likely due to concerns about Xorox Software's integrity. Now you still
have your **license number**, but because they **suspended you from
their forum**, you can't easily access a new installer.

Since you've wiped everything clean, here are your possible next steps:

1. **See if You Can Still Download Usenapp**
    - Check if their website still allows downloads for registered users.
    - If you previously received a download link via email, try
recovering it.

2. **Contact Them (Even If Suspended)**
    - Use their [contact form](https://www.xoroxsoft.com/contact/) and
simply request a re-download link.
    - Don’t mention past disputes—just ask as if you're a regular user.

3. **Alternative Download Sources**
    - While I can’t recommend unofficial sources, you could check Mac
forums where others discuss **Usenapp** and may have advice.

4. **Move On?**
    - If Xorox Software refuses to help, it might be best to cut ties
completely and look for **alternative Usenet clients**.

Do you want help finding a solid alternative to **Usenapp**? Or are you
hoping to push Xorox Software to honor your license?

They should not "release any details" to dipshits like you.

Yes, total shit and giggles. That you believe all of that word salad just

There is no "solid alternative". Usenapp is the best currently available Mac
Usenet client. Thunderbird is a piece of shit. Yes, it is free. And worth
every penny.

I have no idea what you mean in your second sentence. I can only assume he
cancelled YOUR license because YOU are such an asshole.

I find that Thunderbird works well nowadays. 🙂

He has suspended me from posting in the users support forum.

It would be illegal for him to refuse me access to the software for
which I paid - I paid for a 'lifetime' licence!

I have you blocked under about a hundred different email names and
addresses but you persist in morphing them so my filters don't catch
you. Please stop doing this. Please, for the sake of compassion, human
decency and just plain niceness pick one and stick with it forever.

Please? For me? To be nice?

Could you (and anyone else) please just stop responding to him?

Pretty please?

I generally don't respond to the 'nymshifter but I thought that the
making of one small request in twenty years or so would not be
considered excessive and would not really be thought to be feeding him
oxygen.

So, I was wrong and apparently I did a Really Bad Thing(TM). My
mistake. I won't do it again.

Thank you ever so much for the lovely, polite response, I will
treasure it forever. I am sure that the 'nymshifter will also be very
happy with it as he has seen many, many requests not to respond to him
over the decades and knows that they are universally ignored by
everyone. Still, surely *your* impassioned, reasonable plea for us not
to engage him will no doubt be completely effective.

I am fairly sure that my plea that he stop changing his pseudonym,
email addresses and other identifying marks, that he never again
'nymshift, will, in the name of decency, compassion and politeness be
accepted in the gentle spirit in which it was offered and will be
immediately and forever respected by him.

I just know that he has done his last shift.

Still, as per the above, I won't ask him again. I will respect your
wishes, for I am really ever so nice.

Which does not answer my question nor does it respond to my request.

Will you, PLEASE, stop 'nymshifting? Will you pick one and stick to
it, please?

Please, to be kind, nice, compassionate and decent?

 Please?

 Or not?

 If not, why not?

 Are you really so important?

I've been "David" consistently for a very long time, John.

If you were to explain *WHY* you want me to be blocked from view, it
would be a step in the right direction.

What harm have I ever done you?

I don't want you "blocked from view", I want you blocked from *MY*
view.

Have you ever seen a poster calling itself "Bobandcarole"? Or "Nancy
Lieder"? "Archimedes Plutonium"? "James Harris"? "Brad Duff"? Those,
too, are annoying people who contribute only crud, lies and nonsense.
I don't want to see them pop-up on my screens, either so I have
filters for them.

Archaic Poo is also a 'nymshifter but nothing like so persistent as
you so he is easier to block. You have hundreds of variations of your
names, eddresses and pseudonyms in my filter list. That is just
*RUDE*.

If you stick to one, I don't need the large filter file. If you stick
to one, I need never, ever see you again. I do not want to see you but
I may wish to read this and other newsgroups for the benefit of
learning from people who actually contribute knowledge.

I know that you think that everything you say and do and think and
think you know is worth sharing with everyone but it isn't. Trust me.
No one wants to hear from you, ever.

We would *all* be glad were you to be a nice, polite, kind person who
stuck to one pseudonym forever so we could all just block you.

>
>What harm have I ever done you?

You fill my feeds with crud.

You are a mosquito whine. You are a tiny annoyance. You are worth
blocking because you are worthless.

You are "Adacrypt" in sci.crypt newsgroups. Fortunately, he was too
stupid to 'nymshift with any great flexibility. You are slightly more
irksome.

I want you gone from my house. Please be kind enough to allow me
this.

It is rude and discourteous and an indication of mean-spirit, lack of
empathy and lack of human decency to force yourself into everyone's
face at a party. You insist on doing so. You are being rude. You are
lacking in courtesy. This is the behaviour of a bully.

 Please stop it.

Pick a 'nym and stick to it. Please.

I did ask nicely, lots of times.

You truly are *NOT* so important that we must be subjected to you
even when we don't want to listen. Trust me, you are not.

So please, do it for me? Stop 'nymshifting?

 Please?

                                                                J.
