I'm using Usenapp v0.79 on individual.net, and having no particular problems.

Thanks for the responses. I've not seen anything similar reported on the
Usenapp forum, so will hang on for now - it's not a showstopper.

individual.net here also. No problems.

When I started testing Usenapp months ago I had some problems and I set the
"max. connections" in the server preferences to 3 (as the author was
suggesting).
What is your max. connections setting?

When this happens, you will likely see messages at the bottom (and a log file)
such as "Waiting for server response".

Such a message appears when Usenapp sends a command to the news server and the
server does not respond immediately.

This happens from time to time and is a normal behaviour.

The whole process continues once the news server has responded.

Yes, I do get that message. The issue is that the delays are quite lengthy -
20-30 seconds - and sometimes the app seems to get completely stuck, at which
point quitting and restarting fixes it. I haven't been counting, but I think
this happens several times a day.

I'll try Bernd's suggestion of reducing max connections to 3.

I don't think that would have any influence.

There is probably something else going on.
Would you like to report a bug about this in the forum?
Then we look together for the cause of this problem.

Not seeing it here (Mac mini 2020, Catalina). Articles seem to load without
any waiting time.
