Sorry, I know this has come up recently, but can someone remind me of the
command to stop the constant software update prompts for Mojave -> Catalina?

Well there’s this MacWorld article from a while ago ....

Thanks, but it looks to me as though the first part of those instructions will
disable any Mojave update notifications as well.

Manual checks ought to work but I guess that’s not what you want? One would
think - sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Catalina" - should work.

The other terminal commands mentioned in the article should disable
Catalina Update Badge Notifications.

Ah - that looks plausible! Well, just ran it, and it hasn't worked, but may
need a restart, which isn't possible right now!
Will report back, thanks!

Sad to report that a restart hasn't changed things - appears to have no effect
here. It's not a huge deal, but I'll report back if I find anything more.

Security update 2020-003 stopped you hiding the upgrade notification,
according to

Look at https://lapcatsoftware.com/articles/software-update.html and
LockRattler from https://eclecticlight.co/lockrattler-systhist/ for a GUI
method of updating software without going to System Preferences

So far, only to check the software update side, having gone through the steps
in the first linked article. The rest is mostly on a “need to know” basis
:-)
