I have no way to see the cache off hand, but I do have Automator actions
set to run command line commands so I do not have to remember them. Even
simple things like restarting the Dock. Not really needed but sometimes
there is a small visual glitch on the Dock I like to fix. Or resetting
launch services (sometimes apps get duplicated in the Open With menu or
there are other similar glitches — though I have not seen that in some
time). 

So I can easily make a service where you can go to the Finder menu and
select Service and then select the command.
