| Republicans' marquee domestic policy bill that is making
| its way through the Senate would result in deeper cuts and
| more Americans losing health insurance coverage than the

| according to new estimates from the Congressional Budget

|

| After decades as a physician studying the factors that
| determine our risks of getting sick and how long we live, I
| am convinced that the actions of the Trump administration
| will cost lives. Researchers like me know the data. For
| years we have warned that Americans have shorter life
| expectancies and higher disease rates than people in other
| high-income countries.
|
| Now, the poor health of Americans is about to get worse.

Curtis, Nebraska split 80%-20% for Trump over Harris:
|
| The uncertainty over federal Medicaid funding appears to
| have claimed its first victim in Nebraska.
|
| Community Hospital in McCook announced Wednesday that it
| will close Curtis Medical Center in Curtis, winding down
| its services over the next several months.
|
| "Unfortunately, the current financial environment, driven
| by anticipated federal budget cuts to Medicaid, has made it
| impossible for us to continue operating all of our
| services, many of which have faced significant financial
| challenges for years," Troy Bruntz, President and CEO of
| Community Hospital, said in a news release.
| ...
| "Nebraska hospitals have been clear throughout this debate.
| This package will undermine health care in our state, hurt
| patients, and drive-up insurance premiums," said Jeremy
| Nordquist, president of the Nebraska Hospital Association.
| "These changes will impose unprecedented cuts that threaten
| access to care, essential services, and the economic
| stability of hospitals across our region."

You forgot to quote this: "We currently have six hospitals that that we feel are in a critical financial state, three that are in an impending kind of closure or conversion over to the rural emergency hospital model,” Jed Hansen, executive director for the Nebraska Rural Health Association, said during the meeting. " This means they are ALREADY in trouble. Their failures have very little to do with "cuts" that aren't actually cuts.

"Most offices were understaffed, almost as a rule, he said. The ones that weren't tended to be paid for by user fees (money that drug and device makers give the agency to cover the cost of reviewing their products). But neither DOGE members who counted those layoffs as a cost-cutting win nor the health secretary himself seemed aware of this fact."
