#557922 — A Lesson in Contrarian Thinking From James McGinn

Message-ID<013d58fd-b279-4b67-ab4a-48777da66ce0@googlegroups.com>
A great scientist was once asked how they know they've made a breakthrough. Her response was illustrative. She responded, "When everybody says you are wrong and nobody can explain why or how you are wrong."

The point is that often great scientific discoveries are concealed by group beliefs or myths.

For example, suppose we were to go back in time 200 years to any small town in Europe. Suppose somebody scoured the bible and came to the conclusion that XXX was not shown to be wrong. The person might then attempt to explain this to other people in the community. At first he would find that person after person would tell him that he must be mistaken, they would tell him it is in the bible. If he pressed the issue people would become increasingly emotional (sound familiar). Eventually a priest would get involved, present a sermon in which he (the priest) declared that he had examined the issue and found that XXX is actually in the bible. The priest would then urge all the parishioners to ignore, or harass the "denier". Eventually they might excommunicate or even murder this person.

There is no gaseous H2O in earth's atmosphere. Convection has nothing to do with atmospheric flow. Meteorologists are ignorant about the physics of atmospheric flow.

The fact that you simpletons get all emotional and can't produce any substantive dispute with any of this shows that "cold steam" and convection are just group delusions.

Stop whining and admit that you have no substantive dispute, you imbeciles.

In this case, all the physics has be tested and found to be correct:

Water vapour (H2O) like Oxygen (O2) like Nitrogen (N2) is an invisible
gas. There is nothing to see.

you are wrong, McGinn

So, basically, this fellow, Dr. Richard Saykally, UC Berkely Professor,
rips you a new a$$hole, and not only are you too stupid to realize it,
you are then stupid enough to broadcast that fact here!

Now everyone here knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you are
crazier than an outhouse rat, and it was all accomplished by your very
own hand.

You keep posting this bat shit crazy theory without the required experiment
that would show that it is not bat shit crazy.

The more you do that, the more convinced everyone is that you are in fact
bat shit crazy.

Sam, you have no proof clear air is gaseous, do you?

Do you concede that there is no experimental evidence that clear air contains gaseous H2O?

Address the issue, you evasive nitwit.

Of course not, as one would have to be bat shit crazy to believe that.

Do you concede that there is no experimental evidence that clear air contains gaseous H2O?

Of course not, that would be delusional and contrary to hundreds of
years of physics.

Hundreds of post by now and you still cannot provide
the name of the school that granted your degree.

Do you have even a Bachelor degree in physics?
Did you even take physics in High school?
You are a sad troll.
