The interesting part will be how the courts decide liablity when self
driving cars cause death, destruction, and general mayhem, and they will.

I don't know how companies can dare to put those cars on the road at this time.  Unless and until legislation is passed limiting the liability of the manufacturers, as far as I can see, they are totally on the hook far anything that goes wrong.  Strict liability would apply!

the auto-Pilot wasn't killed. 

if the tesla guy had autopilot on...he wasn't the driver...he was a
passenger.
