If there is no distance to the photon's destination, then why does the photon notice that surrounding clocks have advanced while it was in flight?

Hi Sam. It is nice to see that you have begun to be more friendly of the instantaneous idea- that photon- when treated as particles do begin to demonstrate instantaneous measurability.  When we think of the work of Max Born and the physics of the double-slit experiment we automatically begin to measure the limit of the instrument - I think that we are technically beyond this- yet still do not know the knowledge of what the information provides.

philosophically, it comes down to two options:
1)  the parts of the whole lead to an infinite estimation through history
2)  There are "whole knowledge's" that when they are perceived- give an instantaneous picture.

The photon doesn't notice anything, it experiences nothing, no time nor 
any distance. It's creatures like us (i.e. made of matter) who do 
experience time and distance who notice its time and distance.
