Moroney has a big dumb stalker mouth that defends failed physicists, for here is an example that Moroney is a moron in even simple math-- he can't even do a percentage correctly.

Moroney math failure, here is where the fool thinks 938 is short of 945 by 12%, and he pretends he is an electrical engineer. Perhaps the first e.e. in the world that cannot do a percentage correctly

LIST OF Failed Physicists, in no order, going back to about 1979 when the idiocy of Standard Model of physics was in full bloom. And where no physicist back then ever truly understood what Angular Momentum was, for if you understand the concept of Angular Momentum you would realize that no chemistry can exist in a world where the proton to electron is 938MeV versus .5MeV when truly it is 840MeV to 105MeV. For the Covalent bond of chemistry such as H2 molecule to exist, you need a ratio of 8 to 1 as 840MeV to 105MeV.
And in the list below, is what I mean that in the long view of physics history, the Nobel prize has become a joke for there are more mistakes than is there actual true physics

Sorry John Sefton, I just am not built like you, with a nice compassion, which I just do not have. I suppose all of us are built differently, and can share our common concerns like physics, ever so briefly.

No, for me the breaking point is 20 years of that crap that MM dished out, and so, I just could not take it one more time.

If you will not learn not to attack me, you will continue to be punished
for your abuse and insubordination, and I will enjoy the lemonade.

You need to learn from John. While he can be grumpy at times (like now)
esp. when he sees that his unsupported ideas are going nowhere, he does
not distract from physics by attacking everybody. I do not attack him back
since he never attacks me beyond some name calling, I just give him a few
pokes for not thinking things through. And John seems to accept that
these discussion groups are discussion groups and does try to discuss his
ideas rather than dump them here as if dumping shit into an open sewer the
way you do.

Asked and answered. Repeatedly.

A B C

Consider the above: Standard theory has C attracted to A and B according
to the inverse square law, according to the sum of the forces from A
and B. Your kooky claim would have B blocking some of the effect of A
on C. For example, when a moon of Jupiter (C) passes behind Jupiter (B)
and Jupiter purportedly shields the force from the Sun (A) on the moon.
This is *not* seen, there is never any gravitational shielding.
Observations refute your shielding claim, and thus your LeSage gravity.

With Juno there now, we can time things very precisely for any deviation
from the inverse square law. This would be a huge discovery.

Despite this, you keep bringing up LeSage shielding again and again. Why
dig up a dead, rotting corpse of a theory like that?

Doesn't matter. If matter interferes in any way with the force from a
more distant body, it doesn't match observation, so therefore it is wrong!

You mean like Suck Gravity doesn’t match galactic rotation curves? Unless DM is invoked, but not even then because no one has yet successfully modeled it using computers? And no one has seen any DM despite 40 years of trying?
You mean like that?

Yes, I agree Suck Gravity is wrong. You have no mechanism. It leads to phantasmagoric end scenarios like Black Holes and alternate universes. It’s stupid.
Thanks for making my point.

And how long do you think is long enough to wait before giving up?

Higgs boson: 49 years
Neutrino: 26 years
Genetic carrier: 87 years
Gravitational waves: 100 years
Continental drift: 52 years

A new theory that explains everything simply will sweep most of those away.
Neutrinos will stay. They’re the big brother of what actually causes gravity.
Higgs boson is useless even if it WERE right.
Genetic carrier not familiar.
Continental drift will be linked to expanding Earth, which you probably reject.

Galaxies precess, bro. When they prove that, they prove my whole model, and Standard model goes away. Could be this year.

I think you kinda missed my point. It’s not uncommon there’s a long time
between hypothesis and discovery. And usefulness has nothing to do with it.

Well, how much was spent on the “Higgs”, and what did it buy? A DUBIOUS confirmation of Standard Model.
My point was- epicycles exist if you look at things backwards, which you are. But they all go away if you turn it around.

Galaxies are spheres. They have spherical halos. They have spherical bodies of gas that extend 1/3 of the way PAST their halos. Their discs spin and precess around within that structure. There is no other way to explain the warps, curved jets, asymmetrical GRCs without phantasmagorical things like DM.
Atoms are MOSTLY SPACE. But electrons can’t be non-movingly ‘distributed’- because sometimes they’re there and sometimes they’re not; they HAVE to be moving and cycling, like a coin spinning on the table.
I’m sure you’ll see the light someday- think about it. You’re a smart guy.
Happy New Year, Big Dog ( that was my favourite of yours)

Knowledge. For its own sake. Like landing a rover on Mars. Or a radio
telescope to examine galaxies we will never visit. Or digging up long-dead
dinosaurs.

What was your point about usefulness?
