Your snottiness is itself evidence of this deeply held bias.

You want to believe what you've always believed. Many others want the same.

I am not like that. I don't want to believe. I am a scientist.

I want to understand.

My Grandma's House on Long Island had a huge boiler in the basement,
used Coal to heat water, which would go up the pipes to the radiators,
most on the top floor had regulators which would make strange sound, and
since all the pipe was connected, the sounds traveled throughout the
house. She knew more about Cold Steam than McFly ever will.

Had an apartment in Atlanta in the 60's, the landlord would turn on the
steam (heat) from only 2 AM to 4 AM that was it. The steam was cold,
Huge clanking noises all during that time, could be McGinn's Ghosts,
froze a lot there, rent was very cheap.

I don't need evidence, I'm not making an unusual claim.

The same cannot be said of you because you DO make unusual claims.

Let's see your evidence.

Unfortunately, your theory/scenario is just a wild-ass guess and has ZERO empirical evidence, no observations, and zero experiments.

You have no clue if it is correct or not, and neither does anyone else because it has no evidence at all... although there is plenty of actual evidence that it is wrong.

Why is it so hard for you to understand and use the scientific method?

Your desperation tells a different story.

The world is filled with people who are happy or even eager to pretend to understand what you are pretending to understand.

It was not my goal to get you to admit you don't really understand any of this. Everybody lies. And it is easy to lie when everybody else is lying.

It was only my goal to demonstrate your desperation to continue to believe despite any and all evidence to the contrary.

Thank you for your participation.

Hey, the last time I asked a small dog about "cold steam" he didn't seem
to have any interest in the subject. He just kept talking about how
climate change was going to cause the end of the world.

Wait. Odd does declare that everyone else (who does not agree with him)
is a liar, stupid and gullible. That certainly makes Odd, honorable,
genius and insightful and also (dare a say it?) a "winner".

James McGinn's Evidence is probably in his book,

"WHAT GOES UP: Storm Theory: What meteorologists believe but won't
debate, discuss, or even doubt (Solving Pornadoes: Hacking the
Atmosphere Book 1)"

The author believes that elementary concepts, which have been taught to
and understood by first year Chemistry and Physics students for many
decades, are some kind of meteorological conspiracy. The author also
does not understand the very basic physics that drive convective
updrafts (the positive buoyancy due to warm temperature anomalies that
result from latent heat release). Instead, apparently based largely on
reading websites, he proposes a mechanism that makes no physical sense
and is totally unobserved and unobservable. This text violates even
basic tenets of logic. Totally without merit.

Format: Kindle Edition
This book misleads the reader on basic physical concepts like density,
the basics of weather dynamics, and offers a silly idea that confuses
metaphors about how the jet stream operates with reality. It solves
nothing but does offer a way to waste time and money buying and reading
it. This book is an example of the risks posed in the age of inexpensive
self publishing.
