Perhaps I needed the maturity of reviewing the Atomic Theory, a maturity of 28 years to do a proper job of reviewing. And only a few days ago was able to properly distinguish between a theory and a scientific theory, where the scientific theory has its two important elements of (1) repeatable measurement (2) a independent mechanism. So if I wanted to do this review and discussion 28 years ago, I just would not have been able to do it with any accuracy. Now I mentioned last night the reason the Round Earth theory and the Continental Drift theory were not accepted when they were initially discovered is because they lacked a mechanism. The Ancient Greeks discovered the Round Earth theory but not until Newton explained gravity is a pull towards the center of Earth, could a Round Earth theory be accepted as scientific theory, and likewise for Continental Drift-- until the mechanism of sea floor spreading caused by the Earth's core acting like a electric motor and vibrating all the rock layers above the core do we have a mechanism and hence a science-theory. But now, let us examine the Ancient Greek Atomic theory-- the most important science theory of all time, and forever more. Does the Ancient Greek Atomic theory have (1) repeatable measurement (2) independent mechanism? By independent mechanism, I mean the observer is not the mechanism, such as in psychology experiments, the observer actually is involved and thus not independent. So, what is the Ancient Greek Atomic theory and does it conform to those two elements? Well the theory was All things are made up of Atoms or the Void. And the Atom was the last cut. In modern times we can restate the Ancient Greek Atomic Theory to be: All Matter is made up of atoms and what is not atoms is empty Space. Either we have Atom Matter or we have Empty Space is what the Universe consists of. So, does that theory have a mechanism? Yes of course, we make cuts until we cannot make any more cuts for when we are unable to make more cuts means we have Empty Space. But does Ancient Greek Atomic theory have repeatable measurement? And here we can say no, until about the time of 1803 with John Dalton and measuring atomic weights. So we can say that the Ancient Greek Atomic theory had a mechanism but had no repeatable measurements for the atom structure was too small to see, until we had purity of substance and measuring of compounds of atoms. But let me discuss in some detail the Mechanism of the Atomic theory for it is enlightening not only to physics and chemistry but to mathematics with its need for a borderline between Finite and Infinity. As we take matter to be finite and we take the Void of Space to be infinite. ANALYSIS of the Ancient Greek Atomic Theory Mechanism. So we have some Matter and next to the Matter is the void of empty space. On the issue of Matter, we can say we have a skin type of enclosure, a skin enclosure that separates the matter from Empty Space. Now our mechanism is a sharp knife cut, and we cut the Matter in 1/2, then 1/2 of 1/2, and so forth. We keep cutting-- as our mechanism-- but finally we reach the skin border of that matter and beyond the skin border is the infinity of empty space. So the skin border is our final cut for we cannot cut any more. The skin border is the atom, the final atom in our cutting. Now as we have our final atom and cannot cut any more, we are in the infinity of empty space and there is nothing in empty space to cut. Now, I bring up that story of the Mechanism of the Ancient Greek Atomic Theory because mathematics never learned from the Atomic theory, that there is a BORDERLINE CROSSING from finite-- existence of Matter and the infinite Empty Space. Mathematicians never learned anything from the Atomic theory-- that you need an essential BORDER marking out the finite region and marking out the infinite region that starts beyond the border. Now, in college freshman mathematics, I want this demonstration to take place where the professor teaching the course brings to classroom a Faraday Law of looped coil connected to a galvanometer and is deflected when a bar magnet is thrust through the coil for the thrusting produces electricity. Think of the entire set up as a large-compound of hydrogen atom, the coil, galvanometer and bar magnet. All being just one large compound of hydrogen atoms now you cut the entire apparatus in half, (imagine cuts) then another half. All the way down to where your knife is at the edge of the coil and then is empty space thereafter. So, yes, the Ancient Greek Atomic Theory turns out to be true , but only the Mechanism was discovered in Ancient Greek times and had to wait until about 1803 for repeatable measurement to validate the Atomic Theory. Newsgroups: sci.math Date: Sun, 9 Dec 2018 22:05:54 -0800 (PST) Subject: contrast the Darwin Evolution theory to Greek Atomic theory Re: Mechanism of the Atomic Theory in Ancient Greek times// the final cut// and why this is also the argument for infinity borderline From: Archimedes Plutonium <plutonium....@gmail.com> Injection-Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2018 06:05:54 +0000 contrast the Darwin Evolution theory to Greek Atomic theory Re: Mechanism of the Atomic Theory in Ancient Greek times// the final cut// and why this is also the argument for infinity borderline Now an interesting theory of science to analyze is the Darwin Evolution theory. Remember, a System of Beliefs is a theory, and a theory of science is not only a System of Beliefs but has to have two characteristic features not found in other theories-- (1) repeatable measurements (2) an independent mechanism. We saw how the Earth is Round theory be discovered in Ancient Greek Times via measurements but then it could not be validated as a true theory until around the time of Newton with a gravity theory that would not have people fall off of Earth on the other side, as gravity is the mechanism. We saw the Atomic theory had a Mechanism of a "cutting process" but no measurements until 1803 with Dalton doing measurements. We saw the Continental Drift theory be discovered in 1912 by Wegener but had to wait for validation some 50 years for a mechanism to explain it. The first mechanism of convection currents in earth were wrong and had to wait for AP with his Earth Core acting like a electric motor and vibrating the rock layers inside of Earth causing continents to slowly drift. Now we examine Darwin Evolution of 1859, and surprisingly it had a Mechanism-- Natural Selection, but it had really no good measurements because DNA was not to be discovered until much later. Even though Darwin did by 1865 have Mendel research on inheritance. So here we have another example of a theory of science that had a Mechanism but like the Atomic theory of Ancient Greeks was missing in measurements, and like the atomic theory, Evolution measurements of the tiny small-- the DNA and genes. Newsgroups: sci.math Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2018 14:04:06 -0800 (PST) Subject: distinguishing laws of science from theories of science Re: Mechanism of the Atomic Theory in Ancient Greek times From: Archimedes Plutonium <plutonium....@gmail.com> Injection-Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2018 22:04:06 +0000 distinguishing laws of science from theories of science Re: Mechanism of the Atomic Theory in Ancient Greek times Alright I need to distinguish between a theory, a law, and ideas. So far we said that a theory is a set or collection of ideas that are linked and that give guidance to life. And we can have a Religion theory and we can have a Science theory, for both are a network of ideas that give guidance. But what distinguishes a science-theory from other types of theories is that the science theory as a network of ideas linked together has to be (1) repeatable measurement and (2) independent mechanism. A religion theory or a philosophy theory do not have those characteristics of 1,2. And yesterday I mentioned how the Round Earth theory of Ancient Greek times was not validated until it could give a mechanism, and which occurred around the time of Newton with gravity force giving the Round Earth a mechanism. But, can we call gravity a theory in its own right? And that is what I want to talk about today-- A science theory compared to a law of science, compared to a idea of science. Gravity does not make for a theory of science. And let me talk about perhaps science's second greatest theory after the Atomic Theory. The Maxwell Equations of electricity and magnetism circa 1860s composed of four laws of physics-- two Gauss laws, Faraday law, and Ampere law. (Note: one of the Gauss laws is in fact wrong-- there are magnetic monopoles) So here we have a entire science theory on electricity and magnetism called Maxwell theory, composed of four laws. So what is a law of science? A law is smaller than a theory as an idea. For a science theory is a vast collection of ideas and some of those ideas are laws-of-science. A Science Law is an idea which contains a mathematical equation or mathematical expressions (Bell Inequality). A Science Law is not big enough to be a theory in its own right. So, gravity as a force is a science law, not a science theory. In fact, we find that the force of gravity is part of the Coulomb law that is a law inside of the Maxwell theory of electricity and magnetism. Now the theory of Darwin Evolution seems to not have any laws of science, at first glance, but you be mistaken to think so. LIfe itself is defined as a Capacitor, and so a capacitor is part of electricity and magnetism and specifically is found in Ampere's law of Maxwell Equations. Ampere's law is a mathematical equation and hence a full fledged law of science. AP

Math Failure Archimedes Plutonium <plutonium.archimedes@gmail.com> fails: >George Boole in 1847 set forth a math and logic textbook of The Mathematical >Analysis of Logic, and in it, Boole crazily thought the OR connector of >logic had a truth table of TTTF and AND connector of Logic had a truth >table of TFFF. Winter is just underway. Can Plutonium, who repeatedly gets outwitted by the dumb and stoopid dead guy George Boole, learn from Boole not to go out in bad weather while not prepared for it? Somehow Plutonium has managed to survive dozens of winters, despite not even being as smart as that dumb and stoopid George Boole who was too stoopid to come out of the rain. That means Plutonium is too dumb and stoopid not to go out in a South Dakota blizzard dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and sandals. It is a good thing that he has survived so far, but still quite puzzling. He must be *very* lucky or something!
