Ummm, that brings up a vision of a severely mentally handicapped person
sitting in a corner, babbling nonsense to himself, but happy as a clam
simply because he doesn't have enough intelligence to even know what is
going on around him, but he likes the sound of his own babbling.

Is that the picture I should have of you???

It's not "his", or mine. Regardless, it is doing quite well. Successful
for decades and getting better all the time as more information fills in
the holes.

Ur delusional.
They just found another huge planet packed with Helium in its “gravitational reverse-well”

Odd
“What gravitational reverse well? WHAAAAT”

I’ll explain this once again, stupid.

The matter everywhere pushes on Matter everywhere.
A bigger planet’s push will exceed the push coming from Space above its surface. The two will equalize at some point above the surface, where stuff will be weightless.
I’m pretty sure I didn’t say ‘reverse well’.

Read the post a few times, maybe you’ll get it

What I know is that the article doesn’t say anything about what you’re
talking about. What you are in the habit of doing is citing an article,
foisting some silly interpretation of yours in it, and then claiming “See?
The authors of this paper agree with me!”

And why is this true? Because "I, John Sefton, say so, end of discussion!" ?

So how come we've NEVER observed this? We've always seen gravity obey the
inverse square law where it ALWAYS gets stronger closer to the planet!

Where is your proof or evidence???? What, you don't have any???

You most certainly did!

They just found another huge planet packed with Helium in its

The article NEVER mentions any "reverse-well" or anything like that.

Oh no!
Poor Odd!
And energy coming from the matter is obvious: stars shine.
It’s an obvious corollary to ‘galaxies are like atoms’.

You want all sorts of attention to your brain farts, John. And you get all
excited all by yourself over them.

You have this completely backward, John. *YOU* are presenting a theory that is different than what mainstream science currently accepts, which is fine, just fine... but the burden is on *you* to come up with experiments, in the form of observations and/or experiments in support of your new theory. It is in *no way* a requirement that others need to 'prove you wrong' in any way, shape or form. that is the way science works and that is how science has always worked, no matter how badly *you* want the attention that you so obviously crave. So, get to work!

By the way, it is not at all obvious that 'galaxies are like atoms', which is just another so-called theory of yours, and for which, once again, *you* need to provide the evidence that this theory is correct... others have zero responsibility to show that you are wrong. Zero. Nada. Nothing at all. It is ALL on you!

If you cannot supply support for your theories, you need to just fade away, for there is no joy for you here, and you will be branded as just another Crank with a big mouth and nothing to say... of course, it may already be too late for you because you seem to be awfully Cranky now...

I had plenty to say, even if *you* didn't like it.

Sorry, John, without evidence of your extreme;y weak claims, you lose.

Simple. That's how science works. Loud voices are worthless.

Provide evidence, or walk in shame. Your call.

Of galactic precession?
1. Asymmetrical rotation curves
2. Warps
3. Bent jets
4. Spherical halos
5. Double-layered halos

All of which are already accounted for by mechanisms that don’t violate
conservation of angular momentum.

You on the other hand would rather dispense with laws of physics than to
entertain a new kind of matter like what has been seen dozens of times in
the past century.

DM is fantasy.
PLUS- I don’t understand how you can say it makes sense, when trying to understand how Matter gravitates, to propose a brand new matter as the solution? “ Hey guys, we’re trying to understand what our matter here that we can see and feel and test is doing- maybe it’s caused by a Matter we can’t see and feel and test?”
Yah, that’s brilliant

Nope. Any sane scientist will agree with that.

>They just found another huge planet packed with Helium in its "gravitational
>reverse-well"

What gravitational reverse well? There isn't any such babbling in that
article. However, there is this:

"The observations show helium being blasted away from the planet by
  radiation from its host star."

and this:

"Vincent Bourrier explained: "Helium is blown away from the day side of
the planet to its night side at over 10,000 km an hour. Because it is
such a light gas, it escapes easily from the attraction of the planet
and forms an extended cloud all around it."

So we learn that helium is a light gas and it doesn't take much to knock
it loose from a planet's gravity. Ya think? A six year old with a He
balloon gets that. Perhaps after you find a six year old (who doesn't
run away) who can explain "invisible heavy stuff" to you, ask him about
how helium works.

Ever wonder why if helium (and hydrogen) are so common, and Jupiter and
Saturn have gobs of He and H, yet Earth and the smaller planets don't?
(well, of course Earth has hydrogen in compounds)

I just told you- once a planet gets big enough, it is putting out more locally than it receives. This creates a ‘reverse gravity’ situation that Helium and Hydrogen are attracted to since they are rotating in all three planes and go TOWARDS areas of excess push

How about the real explanation, you know, from science and stuff.

In thermal equilibrium with the atmosphere, light elements like hydrogen
and helium have higher thermal speeds than heavier gases. Therefore, in
smaller gravities, they are statistically favored to escape the atmosphere.
Which is why almost all helium on earth is extracted from the ground.

But I hear you, John: “I don’t have a clue about any of the conventional
explanations. Couldn’t be bothered to learn them. I just like making my own
ideas up. Makes me feel all creative and sciencey and shit. My ideas are
much better than the regular ideas because they’re mine.”
