As representatives gather in Poland for talks on climate change, we look
at how hot the world has got and what can we can all do to tackle global
warming:

The Law of Dwindling Numbers:

How many people on Usenet do you think even saw your latest link?
How many of them do you think bothered to click on it?
How many of them do you think believe it?
How many of them do you think give a fuck?
How many of them do you think will actually take some form of action?

Does this really seem like the most productive way you can help solve
what you perceive as a solvable problem?

Like putting election signs all over the damn place, who ever changed or
decided how to vote from some sign on the street corner?

Years ago where I lived in Mr. Juliet, TN there
was a busy four-land highway I had to cross to
get into my apartment's driveway. At that time
the politicians where putting up big tall signs in
the median. They actually blocked the view so
when turning left I had a hard time seeing any
oncoming traffic. It really pissed me off so I
parked in the median and tore them all down.

So what did the asshole politicians do. They got
legislation passed that it's a misdemeanor punishable
by up to a 500 dollar fine to *tamper* with political
signs.

Hey, everybody got a right to make a dollar or two. I ordered a very
nice sign to be made for my flower garden. I ordered from a nice old guy
in Minnesota who makes signs. It's quite lovely and is now letting the
community know why the garden is there. It's a Memorial to my dead
husband and I've had many compliments about it. It's even going to be
written up in the local city newsletter.

Better worry about who reads the paper. There is probably
a local ordinance or two about signage. You might just have
to remove it or pay a fine.

I checked with the city manager before I ordered it. All is kosher. I

heck, as if the city manager is an expert in the law, or enforcement of said
laws.

Further the city manager is not an authority in the law, and isn't a legal
recourse if you find out the information given you was in error.

so....she's hardly in a position to claim everything is ok.

True, but she's a stubborn one, this pandora. She
believes that fact is defined as what she believes
and anybody else who suggests otherwise can just
go straight to hell. Oh wait, pandora's a proud
atheist so she doesn't believe in hell. So, change
that to "can just bugger off".
